The mate one is very repetitive, which is something you can see in the preview of the story when Kasey rescues the black wolf after 'she' jumps off the cliff by accident. ![]() Warning: in their heads they will also call each other 'my sheriff' or 'my mate'. Often Kasey is referred to as the big Cheyenne or the tall Cheyenne while Seth is described as small to the point that I feel as though Seth is two feet tall and Kasey is a hulking giant when he's supposed to be slender and slightly built, just a bit taller than Seth. When he begins to throw it in after every sentence, however, I just had to start skipping over it. ![]() Kasey often calls Seth 'pup', and this is endearing at first. The pet names and the descriptions are out of hand, as well. The author does well in keeping us in suspense, not telling us exactly what emotional trauma that Seth has endured until it is time, and she doesn't rush too quickly into the romance which is a plus if you're looking for something other than mindless, heated sex in the first few chapters. The book is good in that it has a solid plot and a sexy, alluring romance between two people who share a very strong emotional bond. ![]() ![]() ![]() Rather, the poem is a manifestation of Byron's own existential frustration - a complex masterpiece therapeutically exercising human angst and effectively addressing all of the previously mentioned issues. As it is certainly likely that Byron is rebelling against stringent Calvinistic principles, it would be remiss to construe the poem as part of the "Either/Or" Syndrome (positive/moral-negative/nihilistic, good/bad, cold/hot, heaven.hell, et cetera). ![]() ![]() Is the poem an attack on what was current Romantic Era ideology? Is the poem about love and romance? Is it primarily social commentary? Is the poem a description of the Fall of Man? Could it be Byron's own attempt at self therapy? Does the poem hold to a specific world view and if so, is it inherently nihilistic or is the poem actually a moral poem endorsing traditional principles? What, finally, is the poem about? These questions, and more, are some of the relevant issues raised when analyzing Don Juan. Byron's epic poem, Don Juan, addresses so many issues that it is difficult to narrow the scope of the poem to just one or two. ![]() ![]() ![]() The danger escalates quickly, and the worried parents do everything they can to protect their children who, on the verge of adulthood, have decided to take matters into their own hands.
